Describe what you have noticed: roof leaks, stained ceilings, soft spots, wall separation, damaged flooring or appliances that no longer work. If the cause or extent of the damage is unknown, say that. Clear information is more useful than covering it up before taking photos.
We review motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and toy haulers. An RV with water damage may still be considered, but not every unit will be a purchase. The condition, paperwork and ability to remove it safely all affect the decision.
Avoid entering unstable areas or climbing onto a damaged roof. Photos from a safe position and a straightforward description are enough to start.

If you are deciding whether to repair or sell, get a clear picture of both options. A repair estimate can help you compare the cost and time involved with an as-is purchase offer. Do not assume that every repair will increase the sale price by the amount it costs.
- Roof and ceiling: show visible stains and the areas you know have leaked.
- Floors and walls: describe soft or separating sections without walking into unsafe areas.
- Slides: tell us whether each slide can move and whether water has entered around it.
- Equipment: list known issues with air conditioning, refrigerator, generator or electrical systems.
- Transport: include tires, access and whether the RV can move under its own power.
Pickup planning
The type of RV changes what we need to know
For a travel trailer, share hitch, tire and axle information. For a fifth wheel, include the landing gear, pin box and slide position. For a motorhome, tell us whether it starts, moves and brakes.
If it is in a park or storage facility, find out whether the office needs notice before removal. Decks, skirting, utility connections, narrow lanes and blocked access should be discussed before pickup day. Do not disconnect anything unsafe just to prepare for a quote.
